A simile is a phrase in which two seemingly unrelated things are said to be like one another. So, "Your teeth are like the sparkling stars above," would be an example of a simile. "Your eyes are to me as glare is to water," would be another good example of a smile. A famous simile poem is nothing more than a poem written by a famous writer that is made up of simile phrases.
